Uniform

Students

The following uniform is required which can only be purchased from the school shop. Blazers have to be pre-ordered as soon as possible, as they are not held in stock at the moment.

Compulsory uniform

u Failsworth Blazer - compulsory for year 7, 8 9 and 10's, optional for year 11.
u Maroon Failsworth Sweatshirt (old mulberry ones are no longer allowed)
u House Tie
u Plain White Shirt
u Plain smart Black tailored trousers or plain black knee-length skirt
u Plain Black flat leather shoes, no logos or coloured markings, no silver buckles/eyelets etc
u Plain White or Black socks or plain tights

PE Kit

Compulsory

u Black Failsworth Polo T-Shirt
u Black Failsworth Shorts
u Black Failsworth Socks
u Training Shoes
u Towel & Toiletries

Optional

u Black Failsworth Fleece (strongly recommended)
u lack Failsworth Rain Jacket
u Black Failsworth Rain Pants
u Dance T-Shirt (required if student takes dance)

Standards and expectations

u Jewellery - One watch/stud per ear
u Earrings must be 5mm or less in diameter, and only in gold, silver, black or diamante
u No other visible piercings allowed
u Non-uniform sweaters or sweatshirts cannot be worn in school
u A strong bag is considered essential equipment along with *personal organiser, pen, pencil, ruler, rubber and calculator.
u No caps/hooded sweatshirts at all anywhere in school
u Coats - not be worn in school
u Sunglasses should not be worn in school
u Hair should be natural colours. Extreme hairstyles are not permitted (e.g. tramlines / shaved patterns or bright colours)
u Hair wear - only plain black headbands and bobbles
u Mobile phones are not permitted in Failsworth School
u MP3/Ipod's should not be brought into school and will be confiscated if seen (this includes headphones). These items if brought in are at the students own risk.

*The cost of a replacement Personal Organiser is £3

P.E Note: We ask all students with notes excusing them from P.E to bring their kit in as normal - we will find an alternative suitable activity for them i.e. officiating role, table tennis or leading a small session.
