Trust Status Consultation

After three months of consultation, the Governing body of Failsworth School has agreed to strengthen their informal partnerships by setting up a charitable trust and becoming a 'trust' school. Trust schools are state-funded local authority schools supported by a charitable trust made up of the school and partners formally invited to join the trust by the Governing body.

Failsworth School has chosen a 'co-operative trust' model, where pupils, parents, carers, staff and local community organisations can become members and contribute to making decisions about how the school can collaborate together to improve opportunities for children, families and communities in the local area.

This is truly an exciting time for the school as we have made formal links with some excellent partners. These are Manchester City Football Club, Oldham Sixth Form College, Oldham Local Authority, Manchester Metropolitan University and the Co-operative group. We are very much at the beginning of our Trust journey and we will update you as that journey evolves.
