Extended Schools Services
Parental Engagement and Adult Learning
Family learning, where parents and children are jointly involved, strengthens family relationships. The creation of a ‘learning culture’ supported by Failsworth School’s Integrated and Extended Services will raise aspirations in our families and community, with greater potential for long-term and lasting change from grassroots level upward.
Failsworth School recognises its role as a key driver of change within the community. By working with partners including Oldham MBC, NHS Oldham, Highways to Opportunities, local primary schools, Brook, Failsworth Children’s Centre and Failsworth Sports Centre, we are able to develop exciting programmes to promote parental engagement and lifelong learning.
Failsworth Adult Learning and Community Programme
Failsworth School is part of a network of people and organisations with a desire to develop and promote learning, sport and physical activity in the community of Failsworth. From October 2009 there will be a number of initiatives taking place in our state-of-the-art building for the community.
If you are a not-for-profit, charitable, voluntary or residential community organisation/club and are interested in using or working with Failsworth School for future events, please contact Michael Kelly (Integrated Services Coordinator – Failsworth School) on 07973 818 415 or 0161 688 9745.
