The Comenius Project
The Comenius Project is part of the European Community’s Lifelong Learning
Programme. It seeks to link schools from different countries within the European Union. Promoting cooperation and
mobility, and strengthening the European dimension in education. Its twin aims are to develop knowledge and
understanding of other European cultures and languages, and to help young people acquire lifeskills for their
personal development, for future employment and for European citizenship.
We are linked with schools in Spain, Greece, Poland, and Norway in this project. The programme, which will run
for two years, is focused around science and geography – environmental issues. Our first exchange has seen students
and staff making a trip to Spain in November 2010.
