Headteacher's Welcome

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and welcome you to Failsworth School website. My name is John Meagher and I am the Headteacher of Failsworth School. I joined the school in January 2010 and since then I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at what really is an exceptional school. In June 2010 Ofsted visited this school and confirmed what we already know; Failsworth is "a good school with some outstanding features". You can read the full report elsewhere on the school website and it does reflect all the good work that goes on both inside and outside the classroom and the confines of the school day. We have continued to build upon this superb report to provide a high number of exciting opportunities at the school.

My mission at Failsworth is to lead the school to even greater success and I see the school's number one aim as "preparing tomorrow's citizens today" to enable them to take up this challenge in a rapidly changing world. This will be achieved by demanding respect for all and providing an education that gives our students individual opportunities to prepare them for what lies ahead. We are a good school, but we are now embarking on a journey to make all aspects of the school outstanding.
